Remember Seinfeld-Superman?

January 4, 2008 by Roland Reinhart · Comments Off

Seinfeld SupermanDo you remember the American Express spots with Jerry Seinfeld and Superman (voiced by Patrick Warburton)? They’re in a coffee shop. Then walking the streets. Jerry’s new DVD player becomes collateral damage while Superman does his thing. (Luckily Jerry paid with AmEx.) Read more

Intel Campaign: Hard Meets Soft

December 28, 2007 by Roland Reinhart · Comments Off

Intel Hard Meets SoftI stumbled upon a campaign by Intel: Hard meets Soft (as in Hardware meets Software). The centerpiece of the campaign are two music videos directed by Christopher Guest (Remember This is Spinal Tap?) which demonstrate how to “reduce tedious deskside visits and other inefficient I.T. practices. You can rely on soft solutions, or you can rock with something a whole lot harder.” Read more

AOL’s 15 Minutes of Fame Video

December 20, 2007 by Roland Reinhart · Comments Off

AOL released a clever video bringing together unwitting stars of three popular online videos.

Here are the videos that inspired the commercial:

As entertaining as it might be to see all these people get an additional 15-minutes of fame, it might be hard to measure the recall value to AOL. AOL News isn’t even mentioned until the end – sixty seconds in. I would argue that most people won’t even recall this video was for AOL News.

Find a Need. Fill a Need.

I’m a fan of the crackling fireplace. When I was younger, the local New York television station (Ch 11) would play a 24-hour Yule Log with holiday music. When the station phased that out, I got a crackling fire VCR tape. Read more

Grab Hold

Beer Can HandleThought I’d share this inspirational example. I think it’s a brilliant idea to put a representation of the product in the hand of the target audience. In this example, a hand hold bar on a commuter train becomes the perfect advertising platform for a beverage.

Point is, think about how your customer will use your product. It might inspire you to reach him/her in a less traditional yet more surprising way.

Have fun.

Cheap tactic to attract attention

January 8, 2007 by Roland Reinhart · Comments Off

I thought this was refreshing and inspiring: WillItBlend.com

Essentially, they’re a series of cheezy videos recorded and posted on various sites showing the host do things with a blender that every young man only dreams of. The host demonstrates the power of the blender to chop a garden rake, hockey pucks, an iPod, golf balls, marbles, toy cars, a soda can, light bulbs and more.

Household appliance + bad behavior = Many eyeballs/impressions for an extremely small investment

Enjoy.

Inspirational trailer truck designs

October 9, 2006 by Roland Reinhart · Comments Off

I received a random email being sent around that showed very cool designs for European trailer trucks. I don’t know if these were ever produced for live trucks, but I thought these were great inspiration to make a brand/product pop.

Check it out (Sorry, I don’t know who to credit for these original designs):

Trailer Upside Down Pepsi

Trailer Truck Design

Trailer Bookshelf Design

Trailer Bottle Design

Trailer Canvas Bag Design

Trailer Pringles Design

Trailer Aquarium Design

Look for inspiration everywhere. Enjoy!
