Google Gmail Viral Video
September 22, 2007 by Roland Reinhart
Check this out. Google posted a video demonstrating how Gmail *really* gets delivered around the world and invited people to upload their own 5 second clips of themselves passing the Gmail logo from left to right across the screen.
The result was over 1,100 videos from 65 countries were submitted. The most creative responses were edited into this video.
Point is, Google got a bunch of strangers to participate in a silly video with no financial incentive. That says something powerful about the brand and the willingness of the online audience to interact.
